So, in this entry I would like to share with you guys my moments on doing group assignment and my live session. 

GROUP ASSIGNMENT! 

     I would like to say that, this assignment was quite hard to do it. Yeah, it's not easy to be an actor you know. But, I am glad that we managed to complete the task. Special thanks to my group members, Syikin and Wati. This assignment makes me getting to know them closely. I want to apologize to you guys if all the time to complete this task, I have made a mistake😞 I'm happy to know both of you 😊 And not forgetting our special appearance Nawi, Khalil, Ivy and Wawa. It's great to work with you guys.

LIVE SESSION!

Thanks god, I already done this session. I felt so relieved when I've completed my first live session. At first, there was some technical error before my live session hour. But Alhamdulillah, everything under control. Special thanks dedicated to Hafiz for being my client. You're my "Ultraman" ! With no idea whether what story will be told to me and no rehearsal at all. Just go to the lab room, acted like professional and camera roll! 

It's a wrap!!

Individual Assignment and Group Assignment Experiences

The individual assignment really help me a lot and it help me to know myself better. in this individual assignment, i have to write everything about myself, my family background and my education background. Besides that, i have to write about my own behavior and the ways i manage my own behavior. From this assignment, i can figure out my own behavior and i learned my ways to manage and try to handle my own behavior. It is good for us to know our own behavior so that we can find a way to manage our own behavior. Besides that, i was required to do three good things per day for a week. As a result, i realized that the meaning of helping. Helping others or doing good things can make my day and i do feel awesome. Everyone of us can be hero by helping the helpless or others. For me, a hero does not mean that he must has incredible strength or power to help others, but a hero must have the willing to help others. Thus, everybody can be a hero by helping others. For the group assignment, my group members are required to make a short video and the content of the video must include the theory, the skills and the helping techniques that we have learnt in the class before. At the beginning, I was worried because I was not good at acting. But fortunately, i was able to perform well and act well. This is all about the support and encouragement that given by my group members. Thus, i have learnt the important of teamwork and co-operation in doing a task. Besides, i do love this assignment because my group members and me do have so much fun throughout the assignment.

What i have learned in Basic Helping Skill

First of all, i would like to say a big thank you to our lecturer, Dr.Fa for teaching me a lot.
My first impression of the counseling is giving advice to people. After attend for the class, i learnt that the duty for a counselor is to try his best to listen and try understand the issues of client. Counselor can guide the client to solve their own problems with their own ways. Apart from that, I have learned the helping skills and techniques in the class. These helping skills and techniques are required for the counselors to conduct their counseling sessions with their client in future.

Other then that, I would like to say a big thank you for my classmate. I have learned a lot from you guys. I still remember when I first entered the classroom for the first time, I felt a bit nervous because I do not know the attitude of all partners. But after that, i realized that you guys are friendly and always pull a joke on each other and i love to attend for the class because of you guys. I learned that we have to talk with someone first in order to strengthen the relations between each other. Besides that, I also learned we have to motivate ourselves and give motivation to others when they are in low spirit. That is what i learned from you guys when you guys always gave motivation to each others.

Lastly, I would like to end my text with a big thank you. Thank you Dr.Fa and thanks guys.

🎊See yaa Next Sem!!!!🎉

As times fly, there're so many things happen during 1st semester. Sometime it's make me happy, sad, anxious, surprise and so on. We as a human never expect what will happen in the future. Some said we're too afraid to face problem because we always think that what we have now is good enough to us.💬💫

Same goes to my life line in UNIMAS. At the beginning semester, I find myself struggle with new environment. Yes before this I had been stay away from my family because I continued my study in diploma at Kuala Lumpur but this time isn't same case as before 💦💢. Maybe this things happen since Sarawak is across South Chinese Sea and need to use aeroplane to come here. I can feel how far is Sarawak even this state is still in Malaysia. Things become worse when I want to registered in UNIMAS my parents can't sent me to university because they had to prepared their physical & mental to do Hajj this year 😢. Their flight date is 2 days after my registration in UNIMAS. My first two weeks was hectic and horrible.

Slowly I tried to manipulated my mind to overcome this problem. "Until when this emotions will control my life, right?"  So, I wake up from my "sleep" and create my new journey since then. Nur Athirah & Mohd Noor Hafiz, these people are like my precious treasure because without them, I will never survive in this journey 💜. I also want to say that how grateful I'm since they able to accept me with unconditional positive regards from the beginning. And of course to Nur Athirah, I'm glad that i know you and hope our friendship will last until forever. 💋👭

To other beloved friends in Counselling 16/17, our journey just about to start so, together we as a team/family makes our family, friends, faculty, lecturers and university proud with us.....💪💐

Experience during class

Hello to all readers!!For this last post i am gonna tell about my experience during the Basic Helping Skills class.When I registered into this class at the beginning of the semester,I only think that this class was a class that every trainee counselor should attend because from the subject name itself is this class is to develop and improve the helping skills in me.My thought was right in the end because this class helps me a lot in developing my helping skills.For me helping skills is very important in every counselor to make sure that they can help their client to solve their problems.In the first day of this class,Dr Fa,the lecturer of this class asked us to introduce ourselves and she also asked for our strength in ourselves.I heard so many strength from my friends.This makes me think that we in this class can cooperate and work together with the strength that we have not only in this subject but also for other subject.Dr Fa also explain about the assignments and the exams that we gonna do for the first semester.The assignment that we need to do is the first assignments which need us to introduce ourselves and state the kindness that we do in one week.The second assignment that we need to do is the assignment that needs us to shoot a helping session video.For me,assignments that i like the most for this subject was the video assignment.This is because that assignment really makes my group member and I became more creative especially in creating our scene for the video.As this class was held at 2 pm until 5 pm,I really try my best not to feel sleepy during the class.This class also teach me a lot about the value of being a counselor.Being a counselor really need us to be a very positive person as the positive aura that we have in ourselves can bring the good effect to other people live.This class also taught me to become a good listener because a good listener is one of the criteria that a counselor should have in order to listen to the clients issue.During the role play in this class,I was doing the role play with Hafiz.I became the counselor and Hafiz became my client.The issue that we discuss is just a typical student problems which is regarding the exams.During that role play session,I was feeling confuse about the question that i need to ask to my client.Dr Fa helps me a lot during that session as she helps and guide me what to do with that sessions and she taught me the question that i need to ask to the client.For our final exam,we were needed to do a live counselling session with the client.This time my client was Rene.Dr Fa told me that during the session,it is obvious that i look nervous and lack of exploration during the session.I will take that comment from Dr Fa to improve myself especially during the session.My experience during this class was unforgettable and valuable in guiding me to become a counselor.That all from me,Thank you!!

Basic Helping Skill

   Hi everyone, 

 I still remembered the first time I walk in through TR3, the first time I saw Dr. Fa and also the first time I saw my coursemate. That time I was a little shy girl because there’s no one that I’ve knew there except for eejay, faz and also rene. We are doing the ice breaking for our first class and at that time I got to know more of my coursemate.  

   During the class, what I’ve been learn from it was actually a different type of helper I can see. All this while, I thought that to be a helper just need a helping skills but that was completely wrong. Helper are divided to three part that consists of non-professional, para-professional and professional helper.  Basically to be a helper, we need a skills and also techniques to become a really professional helper one day.

    Everyone can be a helper as long as you do everything with sincerity without aiming for something else. For me, this class really teach me to be a great helper one fine day. I’ve learn the technique and skill for counselling sessions and also the difference between advising and also counselling. Actually, counselling session was not an advising session that we can do as what we want in the supermarket or maybe in the coffee shop and so forth. Basically, people are thinking that counselling is just a technique of questioning and also with full of therapy. Not everyone know that the counselling session is not all about the questioning. There is a lot of techniques as a counsellor should know and they can use them during the counselling session. I did learn also about unconditional positive regard which was taught me to accept whomever that come to us to do a counselling session. We have no right to judge them by their personality and also their appearance. We need to know their story first before talk behind them.

         “We know their name but not their story”

     This class was really make me learn more about empathy and also how to handle someone’s feeling by just staring at them. Basically, as a human being, it is normal to judge people before get to know them. Our first impression is really important but not everyone know that knowing their story is an important task that we need to know first before judging them. This is what I’ve learn during the class.

Appreciation Post

Hello everybody,

         Today I am going to share a bit of my memories for yguys to read it out. First of all, this BHS class was really really “daebak” really I can tell. I have a very kind and the best lecturer in the world and the award of course goes to Dr. Fa. Thankyou for being such a kind mother to me and more than that actually. Thankyou for all of your kindness all this while during this whole first semester really hope that I can be your student again for another semester. You are such a mother to me more than a lecturer because of your concern and your mothering attitude maybe 😊 I really love you and really want to see you again for next semester. Thankyou Dr. Fa for everything and thankyou also to remember my name hehe 😘

         Next, I want to give this appreciation post to two of my groupmates. Of course the one and only my Eejay Ryeane and Nurfazila or easy to be known as fazz. Thankyou and a big big applause I give to both of you for being such a good teammates to me during our group assignments. Yguys really helped me in whatever situation I’ve had during our group assignment especially during editing our video. Basically, this was my first time editing the video and played with the computer software and sort of that. At the first place, I did give up once after all of my effort become useless because of the lacking in editing the video. And thank to god, I got a really competitive teammates or what I can say is my strength to keep on going to push me and helped me in whatever way they can. What I can say here is yguys was more than friends to me. I’m really glad that I have been grouped with two awesome people that never complaining everything I’ve said. Sorry if I act like a leader sometimes while actually I’m not the one. This was because I just want the best result for our video presentation.

        I still remembered our first meeting for shooting the video was at Unimas lake which was a bit embarrassing for us to acting at there because there was to many of people passing-by. When we have a scene that need a lot of people to passing-by but vice-versa was happen. There was no one there and we need to wait until someone is there hahaha. But this memories can’t beat this one which is the day when we are planning to go out to do our video at waterfront. The obstacle that we have to faced is when me and fazz need to wait for Eejay to wake up for almost 2 hours. He didn’t answered our calls and almost 40 times we give a call for eejay to wake-up. Boys right? Yguys know that boys was a creature that hard to be wake-up especially if in the early morning. But the thing is, eejay was the one that planned to go out at 8’oclock and yet he is the one that running late. And then me and fazz decided to go for breakfast while waiting for eejay to answered our calls. After over and over again calling for eejay, finally he wake-up and we need to wait for another an hour for he to prepared himself. So, moral of the story, (especially for eejay) don’t watch movie at midnight if you got something to do in early morning hahaha. This memories I really want to keep it longer in my unconscious memories so that I can remembered the two of you that really hyperactive and sometimes become crazy together. I am looking forward to work together with the two of you again for another assignment. Thankyou my darling and see yguys for another semester.
