Suraida Binti Nasir (67839) - Original Sabahan
Assalamualaikum and hi, my name is Suraida Binti Nasir. You can call me ‘Su’ or ‘Surek’. It’s a weird name right. I am from Tawau, Sabah. I think only Tawau people can recognise me that I am from Sabah by heard my name. Tawau area is near from Indonesia. My tribe is Bugis. So, my name sound like Indonesian name. Usually, in a stigma people was think that dialect Sabah was same like Indonesian. It was quite funny if they try to talk with us using Indonesia language. But for others information, Sabah also have own dialect that unique like others state. Although some words are same with Indonesia language. I’m still proud to be original Sabahan.
Actually I don’t expect that I am at UNIMAS now to continue my study on degree. I really don’t want to be here and I was surprised that I get an offer to further my studies on Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. I always told my friend that I don’t want to go Sarawak but I also don’t know how can I put UNIMAS in my third choice. It was funny but it is the fact. But now, I realised that it was a fate for me to be here and I was happy to have an experience at here.
I was a counselling students and I have 6 subject core that I must take it. One of the subject is Basic Helping Skill. I was learn many things in this subject. My first impression of this subject is just ordinary because it was a basic of helping. But after I attend this class, it was amazing that I can learn new things on helping skills that I can practise it on my helping session later. During doing my individual assignment, I have learn many things. It was teach me a good things that I have finished during the day. I also can identified on how I can manage my time, stress and my anger. For my group assignments, it was teach me on how teamwork must be practise to get a good result for our work. We must helping each other and must have a tolerance.
Hello Surek I'm Syiqin! I was interested to know more about your experience after saw your title actually hi hi hi. For the first time we met in Dr Fa's class, I thought you're came from Semenanjung ha ha ha! Wow its just like the songs of Original Sabahan and its unique! I can see that you are not willing to further studies in Sarawak but after all you realised that its a fate for you to continue your degree in Unimas under Counseling. Congratulations Suraida Nasir! At first, you have mentioned that BHS is an ordinary subject but at last you were amazed about it and you've decided to use it in your live session. All the best Surek! I know you can!
