CBT and I

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hand-on, practical approach to problem-solving (Ben Martin, 2016). Its goal is to change patterns of thinking or behaviour that are behind people’s difficulties and to change the way they feel.
CBT is the way we think about something can affect the way we think and behave. For example, if we have negative thought on something, we might experience negative emotions and it leads us to behave in a certain way. This therapy helps people to understand their problems and cooping a skill to deal with those problems (Ben Martin, 2016). From my understanding, CBT focus on changing the mind set of our self. The positive mind set will affect our thought and behaviour. After makes some reading, I can understand a bit about CBT.
CBT is an effective therapy for certain mental health problems such as anger, anxiety, panic attack, depression, eating problems and sleep problems. The session can be conducted in individual or in group session. CBT can be used with medication or without medication. It depends on the symptoms that the client experience and their condition. For example, the client with serious depression might need an anti-depression pill to help them control their depression.
CBT helps me to change my thought. After makes some reading, I realized that all negative thinking had leaded to bad action. This is because negative thinking makes me feel unwanted and useless including when in class.

All in my mind is I am just gives burden to others. In return, I started to have an anger symptom. I felt frustrated of myself and getting angry. CBT helps me to get rid of negative thinking. I try to think positive in everything I did.
Besides that, CBT helps me in learning a new skill to cope with a problem in the future. It taught me how to deal with a problem so that I can minimize my pressure. CBT taught me to pinpoint my problem which is usually due to my negative thinking. I learnt that negative thought worsen the problem itself. For example, I will find the root of the problem first then try to find a way to solve it by jotting down a few steps. I found it easy to look the main problem and try to solve it rather than let the problem getting worse.
The other thing that I learnt from CBT is it helps me to slowly change my action and attitude. Before this, I will just express my emotion through my action. when I am mad, I will smashed a things in front of me, I will cry loudly when I am sad and frustrated and will lock up myself in a room for days when I am feeling down. This action and attitude sometimes is not rational at all. So CBT taught me to change my action by think positive and rationally. This is one of a great knowledge I have learnt in BHS class and I feel really great to know this.
